Twelve describes many of the heavenly phenomena – the dimensions of the moon, earth and sun, as well as the distances between them are all elegantly described by multiples of 12 (in feet, yards or miles).  

 

Because of 12’s component role in comprising the 360 degrees by which we measure circles – also an echo from our early sky gazing – the internal angles of all regular polygons are beautifully described in 12s as well.
